Academic Instructor



Founded in 2008, the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts aims at providing the culinary industry in Jordan and the region with its future leaders, trendsetters and innovators. The academy seeks to be the market leader in the region for culinary education through a commitment to quality and international standards in this regard. The academy attracted low-income Jordanians and provided them with grants in cooperation with the Employment-Technical and Vocational Education and Training Fund (E-TVET Fund). The institution offers a two-year diploma in Culinary Arts and is an associate member of the EHL-certified schools, and its commission on higher education as a teach-out campus. École hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL) is the number one hospitality school in the world, in which it provides the academy with curricula in line with the most prestigious international standards in addition to highly qualified learning facilitators.
Academic instructor: 
To deliver academic subjects to students, and ensure that each student has an enjoyable, productive, challenging, inclusive, meaningful and stimulating learning experience to fulfill their academic potential. The Academic Instructor is responsible for providing a high-quality learning experience to students through well-prepared classes, relevant assignments, fair assessments of learning, clear documentation of students’ progress, and support of the academic success for all students. The Academic Instructor should have a high energy level and ability to engage students of all ages, excellent presentation skills, and a long life learning spirit. The Academic Instructor should mentor and help guide students of all levels to achieve their potential through constructive feedback.
Specific roles and responsibilities:
•            Assists in curriculum design and deliver the academic curriculum according to RACA Educational Philosophy.
•             Ensures that students receive a first-class education matching the highest standards possible.
•             Leads by example motivate and guides students to adhere to the schools' standards of excellence.
•             Prepares, plans, and administrates course documents (Paperwork e.g. Syllabus, SOW, lesson plans…etc.).
•             Willing and flexible to teach any schedule or teach on more than one program as the academy may request or requires.
•             Provides consultation for students in their academic development.
•             Develops the subjects’ content, and ensures that the material delivery is up to date.
•             Maintains the classroom and its equipment in good order (e.g., white/blackboards clean, chairs arranged, electronic equipment shut off).
•             Allocates regularly scheduled office hours in order to advise and assist students.
•             Delivers courses relative to culinary theory, and hospitality management subjects.
Requirements:
-              Master’s degree in culinary arts, hotel management, food technology or relevant area
-              Years of Experience: 5
Professional competencies:
  • Excellent knowledge in academic subjects
  • 3 years of teaching experiences
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
  • Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal (Score 6 in IELTS or equivalence)
  • High motivation level and a passion for the profession
  • Very good level using Microsoft programs (Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Class Room Management
  • Solid knowledge of teaching methodologies
  • Conflict management
  • Very good team player
